IoT GUIDE

SaaS provides a web-based solution delivered and accessed via the Internet. Your data resides with a SaaS vendor, which owns the software and maintains the servers, security and databases that power the software. A SaaS deployment can relieve the headaches of administration and remove the up-front burden of buying expensive hardware.

In the on-premises model, software is purchased by an organization. That organization’s IT department is responsible for maintaining the servers and applications, and for ensuring uptime reliability and data security. The organization is accountable for upfront capital costs, including hardware, software, licensing fees and facilities. Figuring out which route to go is a multistep process asking three essential questions:

●  What are the operational advantages and disadvantages of each deployment?

●  What are the financial advantages and disadvantages of each deployment?

●  How do you select the right vendor?
