About The Customer
Theo Jobs primarily serves two customer segments: employers and job seekers in the design industry. Employers, particularly those from startups, benefit from the platform's ability to maximize the visibility of their job postings without incurring high costs. On the other hand, job seekers, especially those looking for remote design jobs, benefit from the convenience of having all relevant job postings aggregated in one place. The platform also offers additional features for paying customers, such as access to filters to help them find job opportunities that best suit their needs.
The Challenge
Christopher Lee, the founder of Theo Jobs, identified a significant challenge in the job market, particularly for remote design jobs. As a design lead for a Series A startup, he spent considerable time and resources trying to maximize the visibility of job postings without incurring high costs. Six months later, he found himself on the other side of the spectrum, spending three to four hours daily searching for a remote job across various job boards. The lack of a centralized platform for remote design job postings was a significant problem, leading to inefficiencies and frustrations for both employers and job seekers.
The Solution
To address this challenge, Christopher Lee developed Theo Jobs, an app that aggregates all remote design job postings in one place. The app works by presenting users with a list of 10 new job postings each day. Christopher finds anywhere from 10-30 job postings daily, a number that surpasses most competitors. If there are more than 10 postings on any given day, the rest are hidden behind a paywall. Users can participate in a free trial and subscribe to free email alerts. Paying users have access to filters to help them find job opportunities that best suit their needs. The app was built using Bubble, a no-code visual web editor, which allowed Christopher to design and prototype the solution without the need for an engineering team.
Operational Impact
  • Theo Jobs has successfully streamlined the process of finding and posting remote design jobs. For job seekers, the platform has significantly reduced the time and effort required to search for jobs, as they no longer need to comb through multiple job boards. For employers, the platform offers a cost-effective solution to maximize the visibility of their job postings. Furthermore, the use of Bubble's no-code visual web editor has enabled rapid prototyping and development of the platform without the need for an engineering team. This has resulted in cost savings and increased efficiency in the development process.
Quantitative Benefit
  • Currently, Theo Jobs has about 50 paid and 150 free subscribers.
  • The platform has experienced a month-over-month growth rate of over 100% for the last 3 months.
  • Christopher finds anywhere from 10-30 job postings daily, a number that surpasses most competitors.
