Thrive SPC's Transformation: Leveraging Dataiku, Snowflake, and Snow Fox Data for Improved Clinical Home Care

Thrive Skilled Pediatric Care (Thrive SPC) is a healthcare organization that provides clinical home care to medically fragile children. They leverage innovative technology and data insights to deliver their services. The organization has grown organically and through acquisitions, which has led to the need for managing multiple electronic medical record systems with different data reporting mechanisms. Thrive SPC is committed to using data-driven solutions to improve their patient care and minimize financial concerns caused by issues such as staffing and shift hours discrepancies.

Thrive Skilled Pediatric Care (Thrive SPC) is a healthcare organization dedicated to providing exceptional clinical home care to medically fragile children. However, when Thrive SPC acquired two different types of healthcare organizations, they faced a significant challenge: managing multiple electronic medical record systems with different data reporting mechanisms. These complex and disparate systems were impossible to manage individually and manually. Thrive SPC needed a way to prepare and store data in a reliable and accessible manner. The organization was also struggling with competing and confusing spreadsheets, which hindered the efficiency and organization of their data projects.

To address these challenges, Thrive SPC embarked on a 'self-augmenting journey' with Snow Fox Data, a Dataiku consulting partner. Snow Fox Data helped Thrive SPC create an analytics platform that ingests data from their source systems and allows users to build end-to-end data solutions. They introduced Dataiku as part of the analytics platform, which enabled Thrive SPC to take independent ownership of their data projects. Thrive SPC could easily expand upon the data dashboards that Snow Fox Data crafted by using Dataiku in combination with Power BI. Additionally, Snowflake was used as the data lakehouse in this analytics platform. Once Thrive SPC ingested the data and worked through data workflows with Dataiku, Snowflake served as the processing and storage function, creating an elastic and scalable place to keep data. Dataiku’s seamless connection with Snowflake allowed users to manipulate data in Snowflake without leaving the Dataiku interface.
